1. Introduction

The British Online School is a Cambridge-accredited online school providing a high-quality British education to students around the world. We offer a fully live and interactive online learning environment, delivering the British curriculum from Primary through to GCSE level, with additional private tuition options available for A Level students.

This Admissions Policy outlines the procedures, expectations and requirements for joining The British Online School for the 2026/27 academic year.

2. Admissions principles

The British Online School aims to make high-quality online education accessible to students globally. We welcome applications from families who are committed to engaging positively with our online learning environment and school community.

Admissions decisions are based on:

  • The suitability of the online learning environment for the student.
  • Availability of places in the relevant year group.
  • The school's ability to meet the student's educational needs within our provision.
  • Completion of the admissions process, including submission of required documentation and payment of the admissions fee.

3. Admissions process

Step 1: Enquiry

Families may contact the school via email, website enquiry form or telephone to discuss their child's educational needs and suitability for our provision.

Step 2: Admissions form

To apply for a place, parents/carers must complete the official admissions form and provide any requested supporting documentation, including identification documents for verification purposes.

Step 3: Admissions fee

A non-refundable admissions fee of £495 is payable upon submission of the admissions form. This fee covers the administration and processing of the application and secures the application for review.

Step 4: Review and offer

The school will review the application and may arrange a call or meeting with the family if required. If a place is offered, parents/carers will receive a formal offer email outlining the next steps, including tuition fee arrangements and start date confirmation.

Step 5: Enrolment confirmation

A student's place is confirmed once:

  • The admissions fee has been paid.
  • All required documentation has been received.
  • Any applicable tuition or deposit arrangements have been agreed and completed.

4. Admissions fee

The £495 admissions fee is non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the school. Payment of the admissions fee does not automatically guarantee a place; places are subject to availability and successful completion of the admissions review process.

5. Equal opportunities

The British Online School is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. We consider all applications fairly and do not discriminate on the basis of race, nationality, gender, disability, religion or socio-economic background.

6. Data protection

The school processes personal data in accordance with UK data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Information provided during the admissions process is used solely for the purpose of processing the application and managing enrolment. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Review of policy

This Admissions Policy applies to the 2026/27 academic year and will be reviewed annually by the school leadership team.
